Comcast is teaming with Planeta Networks to offer a Spanish language multimedia portal, in addition to its high-speed Internet service. PlanetaTV is a premium subscription service, but under the deal struck with Comcast, it will be offered to the MSO’s cable modem customers free of charge.
The site, http://onda.comcast.net, offers 16 programming channels and 12,000 multimedia content items from PlanetaTV service, ranging from film trailers and music videos to interviews with popular Hispanic entertainment celebrities. It also includes live or on-demand video feeds from several of Latin America’s major news organizations.
