
Prismiq, the new network entertainment device, has signed up with online movie provider CinemaNow to combine technologies to enable web-based video-on-demand on the TV.
CinemaNow users will be able to view the CinemaNow web site on the TV through the Prismiq entertainment gateway, browse the CinemaNow library, and select movies for viewing.
In a related announcement, Prismiq has tied up with BravoBrava!, a wireless software company, to allow its users to be able to remotely access and view digital photos and listen to music from their Web-enabled cell phones and PDAs.
Update: RealNetworks’ Rhapsody to stream through Prismiq: Prismiq will enable users to listen to Rhapsody through their network device…The next public release of Prismiq software, currently scheduled for early February, will contain code that enables existing and future customers to enjoy Rhapsody. This is the third such announcement for Rhapsody: it is already streaming on Rockford’s OmniFi, and just announced a deal with Netgear.
