Intel Launches $200 Million Fund for ‘Digital Home’

Intel is backing up its vision of a PC-centric digital home with a new $200 million investment fund. The fund, to be operated by Intel’s venture capital arm, will focus on technologies that allow content such as movies and music to travel wirelessly between electronic devices around the home.

The “digital home” has been a rallying cry for Intel executives, who have been promoting a vision of the futuristic home powered by Intel microprocessors.

The fund’s formation is timed to coincide with the start of CES.
