Three out of four people connect to the Internet by using applications that aren’t Web browsers, said a survey released by NetRatings. The top five applications used to connect to the Web are a collection of the most popular instant messengers and the two most prominent media players, said the survey.
Jeremy Wagstaff: “First off, we shouldn’t get confused by the data. This doesn’t mean that folks are eschewing the browser, just that a lot of other programs are also connecting to the Internet.”
