So says TW CEO Dick Parsons…”What AOL really needs is to create a new business model… I see AOL as a kind of wholesale supplier. They add content and bring it together in a way that satisfies the consumers’ needs. For example weather information, traffic and sport. In most areas we will not create content but rather we will dedicate ourselves to bringing it all together in a specific place.”
BusinessWeek: Parsons: “We’re still not 100% sure though what the model looks like going forward. If it’s content-heavy, that’s something we do. The business is where it belongs. If it’s more about functionality and services, more software-heavy, then that will be something to think about.
Just on a speculation bit, where does that leave all TW content? Does that mean they want to eventually hive of AOL and just be licensing content to it? You can take it up from here…
