Subscription vide-on-demand will be a big part of TV’s future, thinks Glenn Britt, chairman of Time Warner’s cable unit. “Today, it’s just the premium services. … But I think in the future, you’ll see most of the basic channels have a parallel SVOD service, and it’ll be all packaged in, somehow. While you’re watching a channel, you’ll be able to access a pulldown menu, and look at the programming that’s on the servers. … It’s going to be pretty interesting.”
