Sony Music Entertainment will expand its collaboration agreement with Intel for its encoding and delivery system. This agreement will provide a wider variety of digital content to media consumers through improved systems that support digital media service providers.
The two companies will also collaborate on grid computing research that could lead to the expansion of Sony Music’s encoding solution which uses the untapped processing power of PCs and laptops in Sony’s enterprise during particularly demanding encoding jobs.
