Two global NGOs will start a content project in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, aimed at using communication technologies to facilitate the creation and exchange of content in Indian villages.
The project, called the Open Knowledge Network (OKN), envisages the creation of a hub and a network of access points through which content is developed and disseminated for rural people. This includes voice and text-based services through both fixed and mobile phones.
