Northern Light, the “research engine”, so to speak, whose lights went out last year and was bought back again by its founder, will introduce the Northern Light Business Research Library on January 15, 2004. It will be a paid service for enterprise customers containing a collection of 1,900 periodical titles.
An interesting twist to this story is that early in 2003, the divine (Northern Light) Special Collection was closed and its customers were “transitioned” to Factiva. NL says that its service and Factiva could complement each other since each service offers unique content and could be deployed to different desktops or departments within an enterprise. Yeah, right…
