The Swedish company Finnmer AB, controlled by newspaper company Aftonbladet has acquired the classified ad service Blocket AB. The purchase price is SEK 183 mill (~$25 million).
Blocket has been running since 1996, and is expected to generate revenues of $4.6 million in 2003, giving a profit of $1.77 million. Blocket is the leading marketplace for private car sales and miscellaneous on the net in Sweden.
