Some of Europe’s biggest Internet firms, including French ISP Wanadoo and German rival Web.de, joined forces on Monday to launch a pan-European advertising sales network. The companies, which also include Wanadoo’s UK subsidiary Freeserve and Libero, an Italian Web portal operated by Enel’s Wind, hope to cash in on the revival for Web ads, pitching potential advertisers a chance to get their product seen by tens of millions of Western European Web surfers.
