Chilean MSO, Nortel Offer Flexible Broadband

An interesting experiment: VTR, a broadband provider based in Chile, has launched a flexible high-speed data service that enables customers to select their connection speed each time they log on. The operator’s new “Broadband Flex” service also gives subs the option to pay only for the time they are connected.

The new pay-per-use “Flex” tier offers subscribers a pre-paid monthly rate of $10 for 200 minutes. After that, customers are charged by the minute, with fees dependent on the speed selected.
