Deutsche Telekom CEO Kai Uwe-Ricke has denied that the German telecoms group’s Internet arm, T-Online was in talks to buy AOL from Time Warner.
The original story emerged in a German newspaper, which said that T-Online Chief Executive Officer Thomas Holtrop and Time Warner chief Richard Parsons had already held a meeting on the matter.
Update: According to this NY Times story, some talks did take place…Thomas Middelhoff, the former chairman of the German media company Bertelsmann, helped set up the talks, Time Warner executives briefed on the discussions said.
