Lame-Buster: Announcing “Lame Analyst-Quote Watch”

Well, as a public service, I will start pointing out lame analyst quotes that lazy journalists use as a way to fulfil their quotes-in-a-story requirement. Some of the harsh spotlight is probably unfair, since most of the times the lame party is the journalist (who picks out the soundbites from a longer interview), but nonetheless, it is fun…

The first recipient of the honor is Phil Leigh, the ubiquitous digital music analyst, who has the knack of giving the blandest sound bites. For instance, on the current crop of music activity, he’s been dishing out the following quote to innumerable journalists (a word here and there doesn’t make a difference, does it?!): “The gold rush is finally beginning…Now everybody is out there staking their claim.”
