South Korea is now pushing for a new set of initiatives to nurture digital content and software solutions…The Korean government recently designated digital content and software solutions as one of the 10 growth engines that are to boost the country’s IT exports in the coming years.
Korea’s digital-content market, estimated at $2.3 billion in 2002, is forecast to reach $20.6 billion in 2010, marking an average annual growth of 32 percent
Under the plans, exports of computer graphics and mobile content should rise to $200 million and $620 million, respectively, in 2007. To that end, the government set aside about 689 billion won for the digital-content industry through 2007.
