Time Warner’s Q3 earnings rose sharply as stronger results at its TV networks and cable operations and an investment gain offset weakness at its Internet unit.
The company’s AOL Internet unit continued to suffer a decline in advertising revenues and subscribers. It lost 638,000 members in the quarter, compared to the second quarter this year, and ad sales declined 33 percent.
