Mazingo, a PDA-based multi-media subscription service which I have written about extensively in the past, has closed its service due to lack of consumer demand, according to a note on its site…”Regrettably, the service can no longer be offered due to the cost of content versus the revenue derived,” says the note…
Besides its news/entertainment clips service, it had plans to release a movie subscription service earlier this year, but never got down to it…
Subscribers paid $14.95 a month for Mazingo’s digital video package, which got them unlimited updates.
The company is still interested in licensing the software to individual users..methinks a company like RealNetworks should buy the software, and port its content to the PDA.
