ConsumerReports.org, the site of the famously anti-commercial Consumer Reports magazine, is getting a “buy” button…it has introduced a pilot program to allow consumers to make purchases online through comparison shopping site Bizrate.com.
The site has about 1.2 million subscribers paying $4.95 a month.
“We’re providing this because consumers told us they want our help in deciding where to make purchases online,” [exec. VP Joel] Gurin said. “We receive no compensation from Bizrate and nothing from the retailers.”
