Salon’s CEO To Leave; David Talbot To Take Added Responsibility

Salon Media Group‘s long-time CEO and president Michael O’Donnell has decided to leave the company. No reasons were given.
David Talbot, Salon’s founder, chairman and editor-in-chief, will assume
the CEO duties. Elizabeth Hambrecht, Salon’s CFO, will
become President.

O’Donnell joined Salon in December, 1996 as President & Publisher and
became CEO before the company’s IPO in June, 1999.

Update: CBS MarketWatch: “I wanted to try something new,” said O’Donnell in an interview. “I’ve been involved with Salon for the last seven years, and it’s been a lot of fun and tremendously challenging. Now it’s time for change.”
