Time Inc May Launch A Dating Magazine, Inspired by AOL

(second story): Time Inc, inspired by the success of online personals business, especially its cousin AOL’s, is planning to launch an inspired bit of synergy in action. It is developing a magazine called “Love” (insert your pun here…)..it is expected to launch sometime in spring.

According to this WWD story, Time Inc. development editor Susan Casey continues to give the project the bulk of her attention, while Time Inc. Interactive executive Jodi Kahn is working on business details.

Further, the story states: “Considering how many singles have bypassed their friends making matches for Match.com, any dating magazine is automatically an online dating magazine, a business in which AOL just happens to be among the largest players — which translates into a steady stream of subscribers to send Love’s way.”

Though this is the first dating magazine in US to be launched associated with a major online dating player, Future Publishing in UK has launched “Connect“, which has a tie up with DatingDirect. For more, read this.
