M-Till, a new mobile micropayments vendor, has launched its solution formally…the UK-based company has signed on four clients, including Guardian Media Group’s Manchester Online. M-Till is available across all four major mobile networks in the UK. The company collects the money from the mobile operators on behalf of the publisher, taking a small percentage for itself.
Early days for the company…I was speaking yesterday to Malcom Glen, head of business development at m-till, and I posed the question about why the industry would need a standalone mobile micropayments solution…to which he gave “the-diversity-of-options-is-best” reply. Which of course is the politically correct way to spin it, but such solutions would make sense as part of a bigger payment system. UK vendors such as Metacharge incorporate all these different billing options already.
