CNET News.com has re-designed its site, and has launched blogs…
Since this is the site I have been checking five times a day, everyday, for the last five years, I will offer some comments:
Jai, sorry to disappoint you, but gone are the days when News.com was first with tech news…it still is the best though, if that helps.
The new design looks very spiffy…it has been re-designed enough that it looks new, yet not enough to retain the old, which is comforting, in some ways. It has taken a bite from IHT.com and added a “Save Story” feature. I am disappointed, however, that it hasn’t done more with story tools…
And yes, it has added blogs. It is calling its blogs as journals…are they doing an AOL on us? And all the blogs links ONLY to News.com stories…which is ridiculous. But, of course, that may change as they live-and-learn. Needed: more clear recognition of the blog writers and more links (and permalinks).
Enough from me…
