Newsday Launches Premium Membership

Newsday becomes the second major newspaper in the Tribune chain to launch premium services…here’s the message Raymond Jansen, Newsday’s publisher sent out today: “If you subscribe for 7-day home delivery or pay for home delivery by credit card, extra benefits on are now part of your subscription. You’ll have exclusive access to enhanced search capability, more days of Newsday articles, and selection of three premium collections, all at no extra cost…From now on, think of Newsday not as the newspaper alone, but as a news and information service that serves you both in print and online, every day.”

The current news on the site itself remains free, from the looks of it.

This follows LA Times launching a premium version of its CalendarLive city guide site.
