An interesting use of content provisioning, so to speak, though I would be surprised if this is the first time someone has thought of this: CatchFire Systems, a network traffic management solutions company, has developed a new appliance called FireNode, which will manage connections with individual users, telling them upfront if the website is on a go-slow, and making sure that priority traffic–such as paying customers–goes through.
The story offers the necessary caveats, so read through.
Update: And I better not cover this area too much, ’cause I already cover a broad area, and this will open up a can of worms! Anyway, read this related story/release as well: Ellacoya, Bridgewater Demo Provisioning
