A new monthly publication on the electronic editions of magazines (also called digital download version, PDF version etc) has been launched by qMags, a technology provider to the industry. It is a monthly magazine delivered in PDF format, and seems to be free as of now. The launch September edition is pretty decent, I have to say, though the download mechanism is a little funky (.exe downloads are huge risk, unless you are an established company…).
The fact that the magazine is being backed by a vendor gives way to some biases, but my former colleague at Media Central, Joe Mandese is a contributing writer, so I am sure of the editorial independence. Dan Schwartz, publisher of Asian Venture Capital Journal, is also the publisher of this mag. The editor is Rebecca Fannin, ex-red Herring. DDB, Ad Age, PR Newswire and Omeda. are the launch advertisers for the issue.
