An Honest Admission From Salon.com

Salon.com’s been pretty honest in its financial statements, if you ask me, considering the “are-they-dead-yet” predictions all around…

Its latest 10-Q, filed yesterday, has this about the decline in its ad revenues: “The decrease in advertising revenue was attributable to Internet advertisers choosing to place advertisements in the largest websites, as well as apprehension by advertisers to place orders with Salon given Salon’s going concern uncertainty and corresponding uncertainty of Salon’s ability to fulfill an order.”

Stretch it a bit, and the deduction is: Salon.com users trust the site more than the advertisers do. Interesting thought, this.
