AOL TW’s Warner Music Launches E-Commerce Unit

(subscription required): Warner Music Group’s U.S. sales and retail music marketing arm WEA has launched an e-commerce department, in response to the evolving recorded music market and the growing importance of digital distribution.

The unit has snatched away Adam Mirabella, who till recently was working with Apple’s iTunes store.

The e-commerce department will work on behalf of all WMG labels, including Atlantic Group, Elektra Entertainment Group and Rhino Entertainment, in developing alliances with online retailers and other outlets.
