Business 2.0 website recently went behind a subscription wall recently (first reported here): editor Josh Quittner explains in the August issue: “[W]e’ve come to realize that our website is nearly as valuable to readers as our magazine. It made business sense to start charging for it, too. Also, a large percentage of online-only readers told us that the reason they didn’t subscribe to the magazine was that they could read it for free online. You don’t need to be Bill Gates to figure out what that means.”
