RealNetworks’ Q2 loss: $9.6 million, up exponentially from $1.55 million loss in the year-ago quarter, as a result of taking a charge on excess facilities Revenues: $49.6 million, up 6 percent from the first quarter of 2003, and up 13 percent from the year-ago quarter.
Subscription revenue increased to $25.5 million, 43 percent increase over the year-ago quarter. Consumer revenue, which includes subscription revenue, increased slightly to $31.6 million, from $31.5 million in the first quarter.
The company expects its recent acquisition of Listen.com to initially be costing approximately $2 million per quarter and to decrease over the next several quarters.
