“No one can predict how many listeners will settle for instant gratification, but [Val Azzoli, the co-chairman of the Atlantic Group] added that the availability of individual songs could lead to stronger albums. There’s no place any more, he said, for the album that has just one good song; it will be downloaded by itself. “But if consumers are convinced that there are three or four good songs, then they’ll buy the album,” he said.
