Group net profit at Yahoo Japan, owned 42 percent by Internet services firm Softbank, rose 108.6 percent from a year earlier to 4.54 billion yen ($38.44 million) in the April-June period. The profits come as its broadband Web access service and auction operation — the top Internet portal’s two earnings pillars — continued to reel in subscribers.
