The Online Publishers Association Europe (OPA Europe) has launched a website, and appointed Alexander Reibnitz as its Executive Director as of July 1st, 2003. Reibnitz is heading the marketing and new media division for the German Magazine Publishers’ Association (VDZ) since 2001, and will continue that job on a part-time basis.
Bruno Patino, CEO of Le Monde interactif, is president of the OPA Europe Board. Mathias Müller von Blumencron, managing editor at Spiegel Online, serves as VP; Didier Brun, senior executive at the International Herald Tribune, as secretary general and Julien Jacob, managing director of CNET Networks France, as treasurer. Founding members of OPA Europe are: CNET Networks (France, UK and Germany), Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso (Italy), Group Financial Times (Great Britain and France), IDM/La Vanguardia Digital (Spain), International Herald Tribune (Europe), Khatimerini (Greece), Le Monde interactif (France), Le Temps (Switzerland), Prisacom/El Pais (Spain) and Spiegel Online (Germany).
