Boston Web-based radiocaster RadioStorm is now delivering its stream to cell phones, through CDN company StreamGuys‘ new line of wireless streaming solutions. Users select from a text list of available stations and dial a number specific to their channel choice. After connection, the user supplies his or her phone number as an identifier, and the stream begins. (For a live demo on your cell, click here)
About 20- to 30-thousand listeners are “dialing in” each month, says the company. Since users pay for phone charges, listening goes up dramatically during nights and weekends, when many customers have free minutes.
