Microsoft announced a strategic alliance with Bell Canada that will merge its MSN’s Canadian website into Bell’s similar service called Sympatico. The move is part of a five-year agreement that will also see the phone company and software giant share day-to-day operation of the new portal as well as jointly develop new Internet services.
The new portal — offering Sympatico’s Canadian content and MSN’s software — is expected to be launched next spring.
