InfoSpace Posts Loss, Expects Revenue to Decline

InfoSpace posted a $1.3 million first-quarter net loss, and said the weak economy will cause revenue to fall as much as 13 percent in the current quarter. Revenue rose 10 percent from a year earlier to $36.6 million, it said.

InfoSpace said it expects revenue in the second quarter to fall to between $32 million and $34 million. It attributed the expected decline to “continuing price erosion in the wireless segment, the exiting of certain businesses outside of the Company’s three core businesses, seasonality in Internet usage and weak general economic trends.”
