An interesting story on Mazingo, a company I call the handheld-equivalent of RealNetworks. Subscribers pay $14.95 a month for Mazingo’s digital video package, which gets them unlimited updates. The company pays a third of its subscription fees to content providers, dividing fees among them based on their percentage of the total downloads. The company also plans to release a movie subscription service this quarter.
Read a story I did about a year back on Mazingo, titled “Mazingo Tries the Wireless Multi-Media Route: Will Readers Pay $7 a Month to View NBC Clips on Their PDA?“
