CBS Rejects Gateway Digital Music Ad

CBS network has rejected a TV ad from Gateway on grounds that it took a stand in the lingering controversy over digital copyrights. Gateway’s ad offers a digital music package as part of the purchase of any new PC, including 50 free songs from an Internet music provider. The ad also mentions a new Gateway website, which urges visitors to contact Congress if they think anti-piracy proposals by the record labels have gone too far.
