Launch still considers advertising as the main part of its revenue mix, even though it has launched a premium subscription service. “It’s definitely part of overall strategy. Just like the rest of Yahoo, the music brand is developing some premium content. This is something we think works well for heavy LaunchCast users. It’s not designed for people who’ve never used us before. We based it on the things heavy users were telling us they want.”
