Less than nine months after its launch, Sony’s PlayStation 2 Internet adapter, which enables online gaming, has sold almost one million units. Initial expectations for the $40 (£25) device were modest, especially as game publishers have struggled to figure out workable business models for providing potentially expensive online services.
