BT Group Turns to Music Downloads to Grow Broadband : BT Group announced the commercial launch of a subscription-based music download service, a crucial component to expanding its lead in Britain’s residential broadband market…The venture, called Dotmusic.com is a partnership between BT and OD2, the British technology company co-founded by musician Peter Gabriel. BT will now sell music downloads and audio streams of 155,000 songs–from Eminem to Gregorian chants–on BT’s music site for a monthly subscription of about $16 (£ 10) or a more limited, £5 version.
