Playboy’s Online Losses Narrow; Sees 85 Percent Increase In Subscription Revs: Playboy Enterprises’ online division reported losses of $0.3 million in Q4 in 2002, versus a loss of $5.1 million in the year-earlier period. On a month-to-month basis, the online division reported a profit for the month of December.
“An increase of more than 85% in subscription revenues was the primary factor in the increase in fourth quarter Online revenues to $9.6 million, compared to $7.7 million in the 2001 quarter. International and advertising revenues also grew compared to the previous year. E-commerce — down slightly from last year in revenues, but up in margin — was the largest revenue source in the quarter, driven by the holiday shopping season.”
