Dating, Travel Drive USA Interactive: Match.com dating service was the fastest growing revenue generator and one of the profit drivers for USA Interactive, which widened its profits in the final quarter of 2002.
“In the holiday quarter — a time when dates are likely in demand for the swarms of soirees — Match.com saw sales surge 111 percent to $37.1 million. While fast-growing Match.com accounts for a small portion of USA Interactive’s (USAI: news, chart, profile) sales, it’s growing profits quickly. Match.com generated $9.3 million in profits, up 149 percent from a year ago.”
