Palm E-Books To be Distributed to Schools: As the trend of B2B players trying to break into the consumer market continues, the reverse trend of B2C players trying to break into the institutional market also continues, though at a much slower pace. Example: companies such as Audible.com and Classical.com have been tying up with libraries. In a similar vein, Palm Digital Media, a unit of handheld device maker Palm, has now partnered with Lightning Source, a provider of digital content distribution services, to offer a selection of classic
literature that gives students, teachers and administrators unlimited use
of up to 500 e-books for an entire school year. The Classics Collection
will offer a range of titles, available for licensing starting from $499
per year for 250 titles.
