Make or Break Year for Canadian Music Subscription Services: “Almost four years after the invention of Napster, the major Canadian labels are set to introduce their own on-line, on-demand services of downloadable music this February…Canadian on-line subscription services are hoping the U.S. example has worked out the kinks in what they plan to deliver in 2003. If they can get 50,000 to 70,000 subscribers in their first 18 months, they feel they have a good shot at eventually “driving the on-line train” within three to five years.”
