Filathlos.gr, the web version of a popular greek sports paper, has stated offering complete access to the paper’s content with the use of PDF files. After a week of free beta testing, the service went subscription-only. “When asked what’s the use of reading the web edition, since it costs the same as the print one (1? per day), he said that they’re not aiming at those who live in Greece and have the ability to go out and buy the paper, but at Greeks living abroad.”
