Tucows Sells eLibrary and Encyclopedia.com: Tucows (OTC.BB: TCOW) has sold its online search and subscription reference services operations to Alacritude, a company owned by a Chicago-based group of investors, for $1.5 million. Tucows acquired eLibrary, a subscription-based online information resource, and Encyclopedia.com, a basic online research tool, as a result of its merger with Infonautics Inc. in August 2001.
Alacritude is a venture company investing in activities at the intersection of technology and media. The CEO is Patrick Hoovers, who is the founder of Hoovers, the business information service.
