Reed Elsevier’s Online Revenues to be More than $1.5 Billion This Year: Global publisher Reed Elsevier claims to be on course to hit its revenue target of £1 billion (~$1.5 billion) from internet-enabled products this year.
In interim first-half financial results for the six months to 30 June, its scientific electronic information service ScienceDirect achieved strong subscription renewals and sales of new electronic product.
Its LexisNexis legal division increased its online revenues by eight per cent, with strong growth in the small law firm market. More than 80 per cent of searches are now conducted via the web, rather than proprietary online systems.
