CBS SportsLine.com Goes Back to Subscription Fantasy Football

SportsLine.com (Nasdaq: SPLN), the parent company of CBS SportsLine, has re-launched its subscription version of fantasy football. From 1997 through the 2000 baseball season, SportsLine.com’s fantasy sports products were fee-based, while the 2001 baseball and 2000 and 2001 football fantasy products were offered free of charge. The site re-introduced fee-based fantasy sports products with the launch of its fantasy baseball products for 2002, and has generated approximately $1.5 million in revenues through that.

Now, the fantasy football products rejoin the fray. Cost of starting a new league: $139.95 per league. Cost of joining an existing league: three levels of competition with price ranging from $29.95 to $249.95 per team.

SportsLine.com’s stock fell almost 11 percent to 98 cents on Monday, following the news.
