MatchLive To Bring Singles in NYC Together: Online dating site Match.com today announced the launch of MatchLive.com, a new subscription-based service offering a wide variety of social events and parties for single adults in New York City. Singles may register for a free 30-day membership during the site’s launch period, after which the monthly subscription fee of $24.95 will entitle subscribers to receive reduced event ticket prices, advance notice of upcoming events and access to an online events calendar. The service will expand to other cities in the near future, according to the company.
Though not necessarily content, but since online content sites have been tying up (free registration required) with online dating sites to drive revenues, the service may be another addition to that roster. Match.com itself claims 527,000 paying subscribers.
On another note, New York City is becoming a hot battleground for online dating companies like Spring Street Networks (of Nerve Personals fame), LavaLife and Match.com. The MatchLive service seems to be a response to Nerve parties that are now being organized on a more regular basis.
