THQ Discontinues Sky Sports Football Manager

Interactive game publisher THQ has discontinued its online joint venture in the United Kingdom. THQ had formed the Network Interactive Sports joint venture with HotGen Studios in July 2001 to develop and market Sky Sports Football Manager, an online subscription-based football management game sold exclusively in the United Kingdom.

The game was initially launched in U.K. with much fanfare. Sky Sports endorsed and lended its name to the game, along with extensive marketing of the football management title on its network of websites, publications and broadcast media.
